You can now buy doll ‘houses’ that are cutting-edge modern architecture, like these shipping container houses.

Even the ones you buy in the shop look like they came from IKEA

Of course, IKEA is launching their own doll houses.

This is closer to what I grew up with, both in terms of full-scale and doll-house furniture. Closer to grandparents dining room, but we had a larger side board, with 3 top rows. Our dining room table was oval. We had a clock like that in the stairwell area.

My grandparents bed was like this, but they never put the canopy top on. They had a wardrobe like that.

My dollhouse was a bit like this, although I am pretty sure now that my grandfather or dad made it. It had 3 rooms per floor & had stairs between floors.

You could make the ‘burbs out of paper. We had wooden houses that looked a bit like that as knick-nacks.

But I think this is the best, most creative doll’s house of all.
